Vessel Safety for
Fishermen and Other Mariners

Commercial fishing is an inherently dangerous occupation. Since 1985, NPFVOA has teamed with the Coast Guard and led the way in developing the safety standards for the maritime industry.

North Pacific Fishing Vessel Owners’ Association (NPFVOA) provides safety education and training for all mariners

Based in Seattle, the North Pacific Fishing Vessel Owners’ Association (NPFVOA) strives to facilitate a high level of safety awareness in the North Pacific fishing fleets. As a nonprofit, membership-based organization, we work closely with regulatory agencies such as the Coast Guard and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and keep our members apprised of issues important to the safety of their crews and vessels.

A Leader in Maritime Safety Since 1985

After more than 39 years of providing safety awareness and education to over 55,000 members of the commercial fishing industry, NPFVOA continues to develop programs that meet its evolving demands. As the commercial fishing industry continues to evolve and the regulations become more sophisticated and complex, NPFVOA will continue to be on the forefront of safety training technology and development.
