Hours: 30-45-day part-time period to assess fit, moving to full-time spring 2026
Normal work hours are 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday (plus occasional hours outside of these)
Job Description
The NPFVOA Vessel Safety Program is a premier maritime training school dedicated to delivering USCG-approved and accepted courses, non-USCG courses, and safety training materials for fishermen and other mariners. We are a membership-based nonprofit organization that provides services to both our members and the general public. The Program Coordinator keeps our small office running smoothly, providing general office support, including answering phones, correspondence, data entry, as well as scheduling classes, maintaining inventory, and preparing materials. This position is also responsible for organizing our annual fundraising golf tournament, assisting with preparation of class manuals, announcements, etc., and maintaining the NPFVOA membership base. The ideal candidate has a passion for maritime safety.

Job Responsibilities
- Understanding of Vessel Safety Program components; answer common inquiries and promote association
- Perform general office duties, including front office reception, answering three-line phone, word processing, filing, copying, etc.
- Communicate with members and other stakeholders
- Manage Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial rebate program
- Keep website updated
- Set annual class schedule, schedule additional classes as needed, and prepare class materials
- Membership invoicing, direct mailings, record keeping, database entry, generate data reports
- Organize annual golf tournament
- Promotion, sales, mailing, and maintaining inventory of educational/training materials
- Assist with class equipment and maintenance
- Coordinate room rentals (e.g., invoicing, set-up, morning prep/greeting, etc.)
- Keep all general office supplies well stocked; anticipate shortages
- Keep office/kitchen areas clean and ready for upcoming activities such as class, meetings, seminars, etc.
- Run occasional errands with mileage allowance (must have adequately insured vehicle and valid driver’s license)
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
