Our fundraising Spring Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, May 13th at Harbour Pointe Golf Club. It was a great day of fun on the course followed by dinner and a raffle. A very special thanks to tournament sponsor Vallation Outerwear, lunch sponsor Peoples Bank, keg sponsors Alaskan Observers and Golden Alaska Seafoods, Hole-in-One sponsor Fishermen’s Finest, and Ocean Peace for supplying golf balls to all the golfers. Thank you to everyone who sponsored a hole, donated a prize, and of course all our golfers.

The golf tournament also marked an exciting transition for NPFVOA. It was Karen Conrad’s last day with NPFVOA. She began her tenure here in 2007, and we wish her the very best in retirement! Matt Lasley has taken over. Matt is a fantastic instructor, so you may see him in the classroom as well as running our day to day operations. He is a Coast Guard veteran with 19 years of experience aboard ships. Some of you might also recognize Matt from his time with Compass Courses. We’re thrilled to have him on board as our new Executive Director!
